Maps

A Map is an image — your hand-drawn world map, a city plan, a floor plan of the manor — with pins on it. Each pin links to an Entity in the Codex, so the geography and the records stay wired together.

A Codex map with location pins linked to Entities and a pin list alongside
  • Add any image as a map.
  • Drop pins and link each one to an Entity — a city to its Location record, a battlefield to the faction that died there.
  • Click a pin to open the Entity; see the pin list alongside the image.

A pinned map answers in both directions: standing on the map you can ask “what’s here?”, and standing in an Entity you can ask “where is this?”. Ten books deep in a series, that’s the difference between checking and guessing.

Maps are stored with the Codex on disk — the image plus a plain sidecar for pins.
